The Co-operative’s Fresh Seafood Shop proudly sells the best seafood on the North Coast.

The Co-operative is supplied by fishing operators who own the Co-operative. They utilise fishing methods such as trapping, trolling, long-line fishing, beach hauling, hand lining, netting and trawling. We select the best of the daily catch for our local customers and during most days of the year we have an extensive selection of fresh seafood available. 

We sell whole fish, gutted fish, cutlets and boneless fillets.  Our ready-to-cook/eat preparations include seafood salads, marinara mixes, garlic prawns, seafood stir-fry, seafood pizzas and seafood platters made to order, chilli mussels, crumbed boneless fillets & crumbed calamari rings. We offer a filleting and cleaning service to our customers as well.

On most days when the weather is reasonable and the seas are calm, you will find snapper, pearl perch, eastern king prawn (cooked and green), flake, flathead, whiting, local bugs, octopus and cuttlefish. We also stock fresh South Australian mussels, Tasmanian Atlantic salmon and Sydney rock oyster grown locally at Wooli.

We store live lobster and in season, mud crabs and spanner crabs in the display tank within the retail shop.

During the year, as fish come and go, you may find: sea mullet, luderick, silver bream, blue-eye cod, ray’s bream, yellowtail kingfish, samson, yellowfin tuna, blue-eye trevalla, swordfish, leatherjackets, spotted and spanish mackerel, mahi-mahi, albacore, mulloway, teraglin, flounder, goat fish, striped marlin, garfish, white bait and a lot more. In the Eastern Tuna season, we offer sashimi grade tuna on most days. Seasonal seafood includes fresh scallops, blue swimmer crabs, spanner crabs and mud crabs.

Our in-house smoking room allows us to sell freshly smoked local octopus, Yellowfin tuna, Tasmanian salmon and other seasonal fish when available in good quantities.

We carry an extensive range of condiments (including a gluten-free range) sourced from local producers: sauces, chutneys, pesto sauces, relishes, marinades, dry spices, variety of flavoured breadcrumbs, bottled oysters and marinated mussels.

You can find a variety of fresh bait available – local squid, yellowtail, mullet and fresh white bait pilchards when available.

To increase our service to regular customers, we keep a record of their seafood preferences and we contact them to advise of their fresh product as it becomes available. 

Business buyers can acquire a Buyers Card through our Administration Offices and purchase seafood at business prices.

Gift Vouchers are available for those who wish show their appreciation by giving a gift of fresh seafood.
